Change of CEOs after Progress-Duke Energy merger

After the merger of Duke Energy Corp. and Progress Energy Inc., valued at about $32 billion, the newly formed electric company is also changing CEOs.

Duke CEO Jim Rogers, 64, was named CEO of the new company, which is now the largest electric company in the nation, according to the Associated Press. Bill Johnson, 58, who was expected to become the new company's president and chief executive, left the company citing a "mutual agreement."

The new company will provide services to more than 7 million customers in Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and South Carolina, according to the AP.
