I am excited to get back to writing after my short summer hiatus while traveling, enjoying my little family, and recharging the batteries for the fun and busy seasons of fall and winter in Florida. These quotes spoke to me:
?Don?t compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to the person from yesterday.?
?One day you will wake up and you won?t have any more time to do the things you always wanted. Create the life you want now, and then spend the rest of your time enjoying it.?
?Junk food satisfies you for a minute ??being fit satisfies you forever.?
I have come to believe in the fact that people are good or bad based on their actions and not their size, shape, color or religion. For that same reason I believe that fitness is more than a number on a scale. To me being healthy and fit are more than a rock-hard body. Being healthy and fit is balancing mind, body and spirit, and loving yourself whether you?re at your exact goal weight or not, as long as you are striving to create health in your life. When you feel good, you look good anyway and vice versa.
?One small thought in the morning can change your whole day? so work on having a healthy outlook on life. Start your day with a balanced, low-glycemic breakfast and make great, healthy food choices throughout the day. Move your body, drink water and learn to love. Learn to love your body for what it can do ? it gets you where you need to go, it protects your organs from the elements, it gives you something to feel and touch with, it allows you to hug and be hugged, it allows you to communicate.
Love yourself while on your journey and make the decision to ?do things today that others won?t, so you can do tomorrow what others can?t.? You won?t magically become happy the day the scale reads the number you desire. If you have a bad marriage, you?ll still have it at a size zero. If you hate your boss, you?ll likely still hate him even if you lose those extra pounds. But by taking care of the inside, you?ll be better equipped to take care of the outside when dealing with the issues like a bad marriage or an unfulfilling job.
So here are some suggestions to start your journey:
??Meditate 10 minutes or more in the morning before watching the (negative) news on TV or before checking your email.
??Start a daily journal and get inspired by motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins or Jim Rohn while driving (audio CD).
??Consult a health coach to help you get on the right track. It?ll get you miles further than running on empty.
Good luck on your journey. May you always move forward in becoming a better person and know that I?m on the same journey with you.
